Who are we?
We are a team of four sophomores and one freshman from Lebanon Trail High School in Frisco, TX, and we want to bring to light the issues facing our local and global water resources, through our kayak club, and the Lexus Eco Challenge to:
- Improve WASH issues globally (Water, Sanitation and Hygeine)
- Provide access to clean potable water (Houston, TX; Puerto Rico; Nicaragua; Haiti)
- Educate the public how to filter and purify water, in case of emergency
- Improve the lives of children and increase the future yields of impoverished communities through water/sanitation in schools in Nicaragua
- Through water/sanitation at school, girls in 3rd world countries like Nicaragua and Haiti, will be allowed to continue their education during their menstrual cycle

Our inspirationCatherine Nakabugo- One of the top fifty candidates for Global Teacher Prize. As a member of the National Menstrual Hygiene Committee in 2016, she was able to organise the International Menstrual Hygiene Day at her school. The day brought together over 15 partners dealing in WASH issues in the country and the Ministry of Education. Maggie MacDonnell- 2017 winner of the Global Teacher Prize. She used her $1 million-dollar teacher prize money to start a kayak non-profit to help inuit teens become stewards of their environment. |
